Martin Falch

Martin comes from St. Anton am Arlberg, “Cradle of Alpine Skiing” and snowy paradise for the high calibre.

Born with skies on his feet, he started a brilliant alpine skiing carrier, but was stopped by an accident in 1998: He lost a leg at his workplace, a saw mill where he still works. Nine months later, after extensive physiotherapy, he was back on skis and started his new life in the Austrian alpine para ski team.

His biggest successes so far have been Winner of the Eurocup overall title (2003/2004), Silver medal Slalom World Championships Wildschönau (AUT) (Ski Alpin) (2004) and Paralympics Salt Lake City (USA) BRONZE Slalom (2002).

He is now one of the most famous para-athlete in Austria, and has received numerous honours and awards including Disabled Austrian Athlete of the Year in 2010, 2011 and 2016.
